About Dr. Gaines

Dr. Gaines was Chief Neuropsychologist at Westborough State Hospital, MA from 2005 – 2010. He currently performs neuropsychological evaluations at Worcester State Hospital, for the Department of Mental Health, and in several local clinics and schools.   He has obtained board certification in clinical neuropsychology, through the American Academy of Professional Psychology (ABPP).  He has written and published on learning/memory in Alzheimer’s, Vascular Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis and psychiatric disorders.     Metrowest reflects Dr. Gaines’ desire to build a private practice committed to exceptional neuropsychology services. This means developing an exceptionally qualified team; using gold-standard testing techniques; providing the best, most user-friendly reports available; in a timely and cost-effective manner.  Dr. Gaines has special interest and expertise in elder competency evaluations (for medical, financial and legal decision-making competency).Dr. Gaines also enjoys surfing, hiking, and spending time with his wife, son, family and friends.
