About Dr. Patel

Dr. Nisha Patel has a PhD in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Child and Family Therapy.  Dr. Patel’s work at Westborough Hospital included developing and implementing several programs including: Cognitive Rehabilitation, Anger/Emotion Management, and Relapse Prevention.  Dr. Patel has expertise in designing treatment programs that are specifically tailored for a client based on his/her needs and interests.  She places a great emphasis on using a person’s strengths to cope with mental health concerns.

At Metrowest Neuropsychology, Dr. Patel provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adolescents and adults with anxiety and depression, as well as problems with stress and anger management.  Specifically, Dr. Patel has experience working with clients with a wide range of mental health concerns including Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Adjustment Disorders.

Dr. Patel also provides therapy for people coping with cognitive changes and/or traumatic brain injuries which includes emotional support and cognitive remediation.   Currently, Dr. Patel is in the process of obtaining her psychology license and is under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, Jeffrey Gaines, PhD and Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist.

In her spare time, Dr. Patel enjoys yoga, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
